Samsung Omnia Mic Volume / Call Recorder Solution
Samsung Omnia users having the phone of certain model numbers and especially Verizon users have reported facing problems with sound quality of the user voice ie the other party may finds the voice too low.
This is quite a issue for users of popular call recorder apps like Resco call recorder and Vitonotes call recorder, here is a work around for you:
The core issue at hand here is that by default Verizon (and others) have kept the mic level very low. There is an internal system app called soundtester which can modify this. You can try the following to access soundtester:
* Find sound-tester from the windows directory
* If that does not work (sometimes it could have been hidden), turn off mouse, then go to today screen, press and hold the center button, meanwhile tap and hold the battery. This will bring up the runbox and there you can type ’soundtester’
In the soundtester interface, there is a simple option for increasing microphone level.

Hi, I’d like to exchange links with your blog. Please, contact me via jucick [at] gmail[dot]com if interested. Thanks!
I would be interested in knowing a recommended level to set the sound tester settings. There are six levels to set and they are in units of dB. Any advice?
I have a verizon phone and people say the sound is low and muffled on the receiving end.
